Setting:

Village on a mountain (wintery forest)
-Sub-race that lives underground
-Myth about monster in the forest
                -just told so kids won’t wander off the path
-Villain released REAL monster, hoping to charge tolls
              -Persuasion / threatening for item he’s seeking (hidden in the mines)
                -creature escapes
                -brings in BOUNTY HUNTER to find creature and kill it
-“Hero” within the village
-Mining gold and silver, don’t go too deep because of mutant sub-race
                -bring in supplies
-Imported sub-races
                -Occasionally, raid food
                -dead ones show poisoned food supply
                -escape into woods; ones that learn to live underground survive

Things to decide:
Size of town
-Number of families, number of subhumans
Wildlife
-if any
-What ARE the subhumans?
-how are they different? what do they look like, sound like, etc.? How do you differentiate a feral subhuman from a domestic? etc., etc.
-Mining company structure
-Town sentiment to subhumans, outsiders, each other
-Is it just approaching winter (or a bad storm season), or is it winter/snow all year round on the forest?
-What is the bad-guy seeeking in the village?
